Advanced Noise-Cancelling Replacement Microphone

The David Clark M-7A for ½ and ½ Rail is a direct replacement amplified electret microphone for ½ and ½ rail boom assemblies, compatible with David Clark H Series headsets including the H10-13.4, H10-13S, H10-20, H10-60, H10-20-10, H10-20-10S, H10-80, and H10-13X series.

The M-7A is a noise-cancelling electret condenser type, designed to operate in place of carbon and amplified dynamic microphones. It delivers clear, crisp voice transmission while dramatically reducing omni-directional ambient noise — allowing effective communication in cockpit noise levels up to 120 dB SPL.

Technical Specifications

  • Type: Amplified Electret, noise-cancelling
  • Impedance: 150Ω ±20%
  • DC Supply Voltage: 8–16 volts (0–2,200 ohms, not polarity sensitive)
  • Frequency Response: Optimized for speech intelligibility and noise cancellation
  • Weight: Approximately 4.5–6.0 grams
  • Color: Lusterless Black
  • Part#: PFGC-09168P

Compatibility Compatible with David Clark H Series flex boom headsets requiring a ½ and ½ rail mount. The M-7A requires DC bias voltage, which is supplied by most modern general aviation communications equipment. If unsure, consult your radio’s technical manual.

Important Note: The M-7A is a high-impedance microphone designed for civilian radio systems. It is not compatible with low-impedance military headsets such as the H10-76 series, which requires the M-87 microphone. It will not convert a headset to Active Noise Reduction (ANR).
