Specialized Ear Impression Technique (S.E.I.T.) Course designed to meet the requirements of Air Force Instruction 48-149, Paragraph 7.5. This course allows personnel to get trained on the proper techniques for taking a deep ear impression in support of the requirements of various vendors for their custom earphone tips. This course provides Train the Trainer Certification.
The techniques taught support the war fighter in the air and on the ground. The skill set learned will provide custom ear impressions that are accepted by a variety of companies in support of Custom Ear Molds. Students will learn how to do the ear impression, support the ordering process, and support the final product once it is in your aircrew or ground personnel’s possession.
This course is taught at your location to drive down the total costs for training and allow your organization to customize the schedule while also allowing a large amount of personnel to get trained. The costs of the course are for travel, lodging, and per diem of the instructor. The materials bought to support the training and initial ear impression taking of your customers are based on the number of individuals being trained and expected impressions needed to be made for initial outfitting of customer ear molds. The materials can be purchased using Government Purchase Cards, as well as, the Instructor Services. We work with you to tailor training for your needs at your location to include the duration of the training as long as the instructor gets 8-total hours of instruction and evaluation of your designated ear impression taking personnel.
Pro Flight Gear provides continued support of your Ear Impression collection. Your trained students will be provided an open dialogue with our trained professionals to help with any issues or to refine the ear impression process. We will ensure that your base or installation has trained experts in the Ear Impression Taking and Management of a Custom Ear Mold Program.
The Instructor comes to you for training. The materials needed for instruction are to be purchased by the Operations Group using Cost Per Flying Hour Funds as you are supporting their air crew by training in this skill. There is not a cost per student, but if there are more than six students, Pro Flight Gear needs to bring two instructors to ensure proper oversight and support for complete training.
Travel is based on the following –
The lodging and per diem is based on the current Fiscal Year rates for the location of the training. Full Per Diem is expected on travel days regardless of method of travel.
The instructor hours are based on an 8-hour course at $75.00 per hour. If a second instructor is required, their rate as a technician is $55 per hour for the same course length.
The students need to be dedicated to the course duration and not working other duties while taking the course. Students will be provided with the materials necessary to practice and continue to remain proficient at the tasks.
After the course is complete, Pro Flight Gear will continue to work with graduates of the course to support any technical help they need, as well as, support in their certifying of new ear impression takers.
Pro Flight Gear will coordinate with the organization requesting training to determine what materials will be needed and at what volumes. The materials will cover the training and certification of course attendees as well as initial support of aircrew at the location of the training. Materials can be purchased through Pro Flight Gear or with coordination the organization can purchase from other manufacturers as long as the materials are compliant with the SEIT Course and Impression Taking Requirements.
